
A Commitment to Caring
We are passionate about giving back to the community. We participate in several charitable events and community service activities throughout the year, including volunteering at a local food pantry. As a trained volunteer EMT for more than 15 years, Peter's service extended beyond Westchester County to Ground Zero in 2001.
Here are some of the causes near to our hearts:

Hillside Food Outreach
This local charity delivers food on a monthly basis to more than 2,000 housebound people living at or below the poverty level.

Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
The Unified Retirement Planning Group team supports the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The firm’s donations go toward funding research for a cure for blood cancers.

Children's Heart Foundation
The Congenital Heart Walk series is the largest walk series solely dedicated to CHD research, uniting supporters of The Children’s Heart Foundation from around the country, to help fund CHD research that improves survival, longevity and quality of life for our community.

Toy Drive
In the spirit of giving, Unified Retirement Planning Group accepted new and unwrapped toys, books and crafts for children ages newborn to 18 years for the Children's Heart Foundation Annual Toy Drive.

Ossining Police
Department
We are grateful for the amazing work of the Ossining Police Department and all the brave people on the front lines, especially during the Covid-19 crisis. We’re happy to show them our appreciation.

URPG Annual Track & Field Scholarship
Each year, Peter presents the annual URPG Track & Field Scholarship to a deserving female and male senior athlete at Briarcliff High School.

The Gullotta House
This organization aids residents of Westchester County who face financial or other hardships by providing food vouchers, scholarships to aid with the payment for education, outings and community entertainment events, and holiday assistance.

African Women's Education Fund
AWEF’s mission is to educate young women in Africa. Their members strongly believe the education of girls and women is a powerful way to counteract the cycle of poverty, ignorance, and violence.

Nashville Food Project
This organization works to alleviate hunger in the greater Nashville area by growing thousands of pounds of fresh organic produce, collecting donations of unused food, and distributing meals from its trucks to people in need.

International Society of Bassists Competition
In support of cultural activities and musicians, Unified Retirement Planning Group donated $1,000 to the "Scott R. Haigh Prize" for a worthy recipient at the International Society of Bassists competition.

Croton Caring
This organization aids residents of Croton in Westchester County who face financial or other hardships and need temporary assistance. Initiatives include a focus on families and children experiencing financial and food insecurity, and senior citizens, to address physical limitations, economic needs and social isolation.

Ossining Public Library
Unified Retirement Planning Group is proud to support The Ossining Public Library and its 150-year legacy of service, enrichment, and inspiration to the greater Ossining community. We thank OPL for its partnership with our Community Retirement Conversations Series as well as programs that support the arts for all ages.

MBK Program at Ossining High School
The My Brother's Keeper program refers to an Obama administration initiative to increase mentorship opportunities for promising young men of color. Peter J. Gallagher, managing director and founder of Unified Retirement Planning Group, joined MBK scholars at his alma mater, Ossining High School, for a talk during Financial Literacy Month in April 2022. URPG will support more interactions with MBK scholars in the fall.

Friends of the Briarcliff Manor Public Library
In celebration of Financial Literacy Month 2022 and in support of getting one's financial health in shape, Unified Retirement Planning Group provided community funds to Friends of the Briarcliff Manor Public Library to add to the library's financial education collections for both children and adults.

KEEPS Inc.
URPG is proud to support the mission of KEEPS Inc., to provide children with life skills and experiences that enrich their development, and a safe place to experience the joys and wonders of childhood. KEEPS after-school programs are designed for children in K through 6th grades, who attend public or private schools in Mamaroneck, NY, and surrounding communities.

La Colonie Sainte-Jeanne d'Arc
Joining Commonwealth colleagues at a Montreal conference in May, Peter J. Gallagher, URPG managing director, was delighted to donate time and effort to clean up the grounds of The Colonie Sainte-Jeanne d’Arc. Founded in 1928, this organization serves girls aged 4 to 14 from all socio-economic situations with camp programs geared toward developing their full potential through sports and the arts.

Northern Westchester
Geriatric Committee
URPG has proudly joined the membership of the NWGC, which has been addressing the needs of seniors and geriatric professionals for over 25 years. The NWGC is an integrated group of individuals devoted to learning about the issues of concern to older adults residing in and around Westchester County. Visit: https://www.nwgeriatriccommittee.org

Ossining Volunteer
Ambulance Corps.
Peter is on the board of directors of the Ossining Volunteer Ambulance Corps. The group is comprised of both volunteer and career members who provide emergency care 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Make-A-Wish Foundation
Hudson Valley
URPG supports the mission of the Hudson Valley Chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and applauds its work on behalf of extraordinary children and their families. Most recently, URPG was a 2022 Sponsor of the Chapter’s “Walk for Wishes.”

Ossining Public Library
We expanded our support of OPL during Financial Literacy Month 2023. Unified Retirement Planning Group provided Commonwealth Cares funds to increase the Library's financial education collections for adults and teens.
